Another journey. Another dream. Another chance to wear the green and white.

There is something about that moment on a plane when the destination gets closer and you know that, once you land, the work begins again. For Uchenna, that moment came last night as she made her way back to Nigeria, sharing a glimpse of the journey with her followers before arriving in camp ahead of another important assignment with the national team.

This time, the destination is not just another international window. There is a bigger goal in sight:

LOS ANGELES 2028.

A New Olympic Chapter

Uchenna is joining the Super Falcons as Nigeria begins its Olympic qualifying campaign, with Comoros standing between the team and the next stage of the journey. The two sides will meet over two legs, with the first match taking place on October 9 and the return fixture on October 13 at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo.

For Uchenna, the Olympic dream is one she knows personally. She was part of the Nigeria squad that returned to the Olympic Games at Paris 2024, helping the Super Falcons end a 16-year wait to compete on that stage. Now, two years later, the opportunity to do it again is right in front of her.

The road to Los Angeles will demand patience, consistency and plenty of hard work. Nigeria has entered the qualifiers at the second round, meaning every match carries real weight. The Falcons will need to navigate several rounds before one of Africa's two Olympic spots is secured, making this opening tie against Comoros the first important step in a long journey.

More Than Goals

And this is where Uchenna's experience becomes important.

Over the years, she has become a familiar and reliable presence in the Super Falcons attack. Her pace and physicality give defenders a different problem to deal with, while her movement can create space for the players around her. She brings energy to the front line, is willing to press and fight for every ball, and has shown that she can make her presence felt when Nigeria needs a spark.

Her recent WAFCON campaign was another reminder of that. Uchenna contributed two goals during Nigeria's run in Morocco, but her influence went beyond what appeared on the scoresheet. Her ability to stretch defenses, make runs behind the back line and keep working throughout a match has made her an important part of Nigeria's attacking options.

That combination of experience, energy and attacking threat is something she now brings into another Olympic campaign.

Back in Camp

After the journey home, the focus now shifts completely to preparation.

Training sessions, tactical work and time with her teammates will all build toward those two matches against Comoros. For Uchenna, arriving in camp means getting back into the rhythm of international football and preparing for another opportunity to make an impact in the green and white.

There is also something special about continuing this journey with a group of players she has shared so many important moments with. From the Olympic stage in Paris to WAFCON and now another qualifying campaign, Uchenna has been part of the story of this generation of Super Falcons.

Now she gets to help write the next chapter.

The Road Starts Here

The first step is Comoros. The goal is bigger.

For Uchenna, this is another chance to represent Nigeria, another chance to compete for something meaningful, and another chance to chase the Olympic dream.

Los Angeles is the destination. The work starts here.
